Full Description
{1} Two-and-a-half-storey house and shop built on a corner site on the south side of Wellingborough Road. At the rear of the shop is a small two-storey workshop with a separate entrance. Both the shop and the workshop are shown on the 1883 1:500 OS plan. The Wilberforce Street elevation of the shop has seen various alterations including the insertion and blocking of various windows, The original windows have brick segmental heads and buff brick jambs. Similar window heads, but with burnt brick in the jambs, are present in the workshop range which seems to belong to the same building phase. The Wellingborough Road elevation has a timber shop front occupying the entire ground floor. The single first-floor window has a flat stone head with relief moulding and a bracketed stone sill.
