Summary
Possible early Medieval cemetery indicated by finds including brooches, beads, shields and a spearhead found in 1916 at ironstone workings. There are three possible sites for this cemetery.

Full Description
(1-4) Seven fragments of Early Saxon urns, an iron spearhead, three annular brooches, eight square head brooches and two shield bosses were discovered in 1916. The finds all date to the early Saxon period. The finds were recovered from three quarries but the exact finds from each quarry is unclear. The finds likely are indicative of Early Saxon burial sites.
(6) The finds were recovered from three separate quarries but the exact finds from each quarry is unclear. The finds were likely retained by the landowner. Locations were at SP 970 817, SP 970 800, SP 953 806.
{7} Col Stopford Sackville, Drayton House stated that the finds came from ironstone workings and indicated three quarries being worked about 1916 at SP 970817, SP 974800 and 953806. Of the finds Drayton House hold 3 annular and eight square headed brooches, glass and amber beads, 2 shield bosses and an iron spear head,Northampton Museum hold fragments of seven urns but no burial furniture - no skeletal remains are reported.
