Cropmarks of a large trapezoidal ditch-defined enclosure of probable later prehistoric date with a cluster of internal pits and traces of a possible nearby trackway and two rectangular pits. All visible on aerial photographs taken in 2013 by English Heritage as part of the Reconnaissance Recording Programme.

Full Description

{1} Cropmarks of a large trapezoidal ditch-defined enclosure of probable later prehistoric date with a cluster of internal pits (centred at SP 6588 4987), possibly a settlement enclosure measuring c.70m across. The western side is not visible at the edge of the modern field in which the enclosure lies. Further to the east are traces of a possible double-ditched trackway or boundary and two rectangular pits which could be later extraction. The cropmark traces of medieval ridge an furrow can be seen over much of the field. All features are visible on aerial photographs taken in 2013 by English Heritage as part of the Reconnaissance Recording Programme.
