An Iron Age/Roman settlement is visible as cropmarks on air photographs. The settlement consists of rectilinear enclosures, curvilinear enclosures and round houses.

Full Description

{1} An Iron Age/Roman settlement is visible as cropmarks on air photographs, at SP 9389 7871. A large rectilinear enclosure appears to define the extent of the settlement, partially visible as a narrow ditch. Within this enclosure is a round house. The roundhouse is formed by a circuit of ditch and measures approximately 10m in diameter. Smaller rectilinear enclosures are visible to the south and west. An unusual double ditched curvilinear enclosure is visible at SP 9382 7877, though its precise function is uncertain.
