Full Description
{1} Stockwell House is a large regular-coursed ironstone dwelling, most likely dating to the 18th or possibly even 17th century. It has three bays and is two storeys tall with a pitched slate roof. The roof also has coped gables and kneelers and may have previously been thatched, by evidence of the widening of the gable fronting Main Street. The windows are all timber casement with timber lintels painted white, and it has a traditional panel door. The barn adjacent has been sympathetically converted into residential accommodation. It sits behind a small ironstone wall adjacent to a green which also contains the base of a medieval cross.
