Full Description

{1} The Clipston Memorial Lamp comprises a square sectioned tapering stone pillar surmounted by
a cast iron, decorative four-legged, fluted and tapering lamp standard with a cone-shaped opaque globe. An inscription on the stone pillar states that lighting for the village was a gift from the
inhabitants to commemorate those who died in the First World War, and later the Second World Wars. As such, it is an unusual type of war memorial. The lamp was erected in 1953.
