Full Description
{1} A level 1-2 building recording survey was undertaken of the isolated farm complex prior to conversion to domestic use. The original north-western ranges, apart from the outer walls, had been demolished prior to 1958 and replaced by a modern shed, also demolished prior to the survey.
The remaining buildings comprised a two-storey stable block and adjoining barn which were both depicted on the 1812 Ordnance Survey maps and were probably late 18th century in date. A later 19th-century cow house was also recorded. All the buildings are constructed of coursed ironstone rubble; the earlier buildings have Welsh slate roofs, while the cow house has a corrugated iron roof. Access to the first floor of the stables was limited, but it was possible to record three upper cruck trusses.
