Full Description
{1} The house is situated to the east of the original site of the medieval Gifford’s Manor. Gifford’s was derelict by the late 18th century, by which time Leam House Farm was established. The complex of main farmhouse and barns has retained its plan form visible on the 1885 OS mapping.
Leam House was built on an L-plan, the principal façade facing towards Leam Pool to the east, and out to the Charwelton Road. The house has two storeys and three bays, with a pitched roof of concrete tile, the outbuildings have pitched slate roofs. The ground floor is asymmetrically designed, with a projecting square-bay window to the north and a shallow bay window to the south. A large, ironstone porch with a leaded canopy sits between these.
