Summary

Constructed as the Hellidon Village School in 1854 with funding from the Reverend Charles Holthouse of Hellidon Grange. The building was extended by recommendation of Government directives in the late 19th century to cater for over 100 village children. An ironstone schoolmaster’s house was also constructed adjacent to the school, which still remains as School House. Locally listed building.

Full Description

{1} The building ceased to be used as a school in 1937 (aside from a brief period during the Second World War), and was converted to the village hall in 1981.
The building is designed in the Arts and Crafts style built out of ironstone and brick with a clay-tile roof. Internally, there have been a number of alterations.
