Full Description

{1} Borehole survey at Blackgrounds Farm and Edgcote Battlefield as part of the HS2 enabling works. Dating of a peat deposit found in WS85 suggests a Neolithic date for deposition of peat in the Cherwell valley which fits with modelling of the Thames Valley Sequence, suggesting the Cherwell Valley sequence may correlate well with the more established modelling of the Thames Valley.
