Full Description

{1} An assessment of leakage was undertaken at the Lily Pond. The pond was identified as a surviving part of extensive formal water gardens recorded in the later 17th and early 18th century. The pond required two dams, on the north and west sides, to impound the water against the gently sloping hill-side. The pressure on these dams, as well as damage caused by tree roots had caused the leakage.
