Full Description

{1} Owners Pell & Co. Little is known about this quarry except that it was operating from 1863 to 1868. The exact location is thought to be at the rear of Pell's old home at Heyford Hills where there are distinct signs of former quarrying activity in the sunken fields below the hedge. There is however no sign of a tramway but it would have needed to be funicular to reach the LNWR line nearby.
