Full Description

{1} Archaeological building recording was undertaken prior to conversion of the farm buildings to residential use. Farm buildings arranged around the north, east and west sides of a rectangular cattle (or crew) yard. The threshing barn on the west side of the yard was probably built in the 18th century from coursed ironstone rubble. Evidence in the south elevation suggests the roof was previously of a steeper pitch. Against the north side of the barn is a chaff house, built at a slightly later date also of coursed ironstone rubble. A 19th century cart shed, open on the west side, was constructed from brick. At around the same time, two brick shelter sheds were also constructed. A stable, on the east side of the yard, was built of coursed ironstone rubble.
