Full Description

[1} An isolated sunken-featured building (SFB) was found south of Harper's Brook during archaeological excavation in advance of the construction of the A43 Corby link Road. There was no direct dating evidence associated with the feature- only a single sherd of Roman pottery and a small assemblage of animal bone was recovered- so it was dated based on the recognised form of the feature. Two small pits were also found in the wider excavation area, each located over 50m from the SFB. Saxon pottery, broadly dating to the 5th-8th centuries, was found in both pits.
