Full Description
{1} Ploughing of the fields in 1994 resulted in a distinct feature becoming visible on a north-east to south-west alignment from Ferrels Wood north-east up to Home Farm. Recutting of silted ditches in the area of Ferrels Wood allowed observation of a limestone layer with a slag surface in two locations.
{2} This alignment would join the road excavated to the south-west at Priors Hall in 2021 and the Tixover to great Casterton road recorded on the Leicestershire and Rutland HER which enters the county at SP 973 997.
