Full Description
{1} A level 2 building recording survey was carried out in 2007 prior to demolition of the school. The school was constructed in 1872 by the architect EF Law. Original plans are held at Northampton Record office. The school was originally designed for 30 pupils but was quickly extended, so that by 1906 it could take over 700 pupils, reflecting the rapid expansion of the area. Later 20th century extensions did not respect the architectural integrity of earlier school buildings and, apart from two original doors, there were no fixtures or fittings that could be dated to 1872.
