Full Description
{1} First shown on the 1900 Ordnance Survey map. In 1902 it is listed as Albert E Fox, leather factor and heel & lift manufacturer and by 1916 offal dealer is added to this list. The factory comprises three north-lit sheds with their gable ends to spencer street. The two sheds nearest Denford Road on the west each have three semicircular-headed gable windows. The third shed now has a garage door opening but a 1916 illustration shows it with two semicircular-headed windows and a rear entrance, although this should be treated with caution since other details were incorrect. There is a loading door in the north elevation which appears to be a later insertion. The western shed has a slate roof, but the other two have corrugated iron roofs. A gabled range to the east appears to be a 1926 extension. A further 1926 extension to the north has been replaced.
