Summary
The site of both the County Cricket Club and Northampton Town Football Club's former ground. The ground was laid out in 1885 and acquired a small stand and terrace in 1907. A further stand was built in 1924 but was damaged by fire in 1929. In 1965 terracing was added on one side in addition to portable wooden bleachers. The main stand was refurbished in 1980. Due to increasing financial difficulties the club relocated to the Sixfield Stadium in 1994. The County Cricket Club remains.

Full Description
{1} The site of Northampton Town Football Club's former ground. The ground was laid out in 1885 and acquired a small stand and terrace in 1907. A further stand was built in 1924 but was damaged by fire in 1929. In 1965 terracing was added on one side in addition to portable wooden bleachers. The main stand was refurbished in 1980. Due to increasing financial difficulties the club relocated to the Sixfield Stadium in 1994. The County ground has since been demolished, apart from several of the turnstiles.
{2} The County Ground home since 1885 of the County Cricket Club. Indoor cricket school, 1997-8 by Gotch, Saunders & Surridge.White and silver , the curved roof is held by eleven silver colums.
