Full Description

{1} A wall-mounted post box dating to the reign of Queen Victoria. It is situated in Main Street and is mounted within a stone wall. It has ‘VR’ in raised letters above the opening. The letters are separated by a crown motif. The opening has a flap with a projecting hood above. Wall mounted post boxes first came into use in 1857.This example is still in use today.
