Monument record 1301/0/179 - 18-20 Hill Street

Summary

A three storey building of five irregularly sized bays, built on the north side of Hill Street. The unusual layout and features of this building, now a shop, suggests that it may have a connection with the shoe making industry. Brick built with a pitched roof covered in concrete tiles. Ordnance Survey maps suggest it was built c.1890. To the rear is a single-storeyed outbuilding, probably too tall to have functioned as a workshop.
