Building record 3980/0/62 - Probable shoemakers workshops, New Street

Please read our .

Summary

Row of workshops - presumed to be shoemakers' workshops - at the rear of a terrace which sits at right angles to New Street. Most of the workshops are now used as garden sheds but some examples retain chimney stacks. Comparison of successive editions of the Ordnance Survey shows that the row was built in two stages - the western end before 1884 and the eastern end before 1924.
