Summary

Geophysical survey undertaken in 2022 identified a double-ditched enclosure and associated linear features. Subsequent trial trench excavation confirmed the presence of the enclosure; late Iron Age pottery was recovered from the ditch fills. Further ditches may be part of an adjoining enclosure.

Full Description

{2} A late Iron Age double-ditched rectilinear enclosure was identified in Trench 70 during trial trench evaluation cooresponding to the suggested enclosure identified during the earlier geophysical enclosure. Further ditches to the north of the enclosure may be part of another adjoining enclosure.
