Full Description
{1} Archaeological evaluation was undertaken prior to the construction of a new house to the south of the The Retreat. It identified the presence of a former building which appears to have been a timber-framed structure built on a sill-beam foundation. It appears to have been use from the late 17th century to the early 19th century. Although its function could not be ascertained, it was possibly an outbuilding. Two sherds of residual medieval pottery were found in a floor make-up layer.
