Summary
The Fruit Room, Apethorpe Hall. The fruit store was built circa 1922 to a design based on an Article by George Bunyard 'How to make a fruit room'. The building measures 9.1m by 3.9m with a height of 2m. The building is oriented west-east. The base wall is formed of concrete and the floor is set below ground level. The floor is of earth. The walls are formed of nailed softwood filled with water reed. The roof is of thatch. The building was in a semi derelict state in 2007 and entirely demolished by 2018.

Full Description
{1} The Fruit Room is in an advanced state of decay. The thatched roof and its rafter structure have collapsed. The walls, built of softwood framing with thatch infill as insulation, are also severely decayed. Inside the fruit racks were beginning to decay although the two doors at the entrance to the east gable are in fair condition.
{2} Entirely demolished by 2018.
