Monument record 7249/0/1 - Probable post-medieval trackway

Please read our .

Summary

A probable post medieval trackway is visible as a cropmark on air photographs taken on 20th June 2011. The southern section is defined by a ditch but the northern sections are showing as a negative cropmark which indicates the presence of a bank or causeway. The trackway takes a sinuous course but appears to respect the eastern edge of a wood which forms part of the designed landscape of Apethorpe Hall. This indicates that it is either contemporary with or post-dates the establishment of the parkland.
