Full Description

{1} Geophysical survey within the Turbine 4 area identified a possible prehistoric pit alignment which was closely mirrored by a boundary ditch immediately to the north. A possible curvilinear enclosure was located to the south.

{2} Trial trench excavation revealed a ditch identified as a possible enclosure by the geophysical survey. Late Iron Age pottery was recovered from the ditch fill. The possible pit alignment and ditch were not encountered; it is possible that they lay beyond the limits of the trench.

{3} Archaeological excavation of wind turbine base 4 revealed evidence of Iron Age settlement comprising two curvilinear enclosures, both of two phases. A pit alignment was also identified.
