Summary

Rushton Village Hall was built between 1900 and 1926 and is marked on the 1926 Ordnance Survey map as a primitive Methodist Church. It is unknown when it became the village hall. It is a single storey red brick building with stone dressings and a pitched, slate roof. There is a pointed-arch window to the west. The building is L-shape in plan and has altered little since 1926 apart from a small extension. The interior is a single space with wainscoting. The ceiling is timber clad. The windows have been replaced with modern uPVC.

{1} The building is not shown on the 1900 Ordnance Survey map but is present on the 1926 map, marked as a Primitive Methodist Church.

Rushton Village Hall is a single storey red brick building with stone dressings and a pitched, slate roof covering. The pointed-arch window to the west, street-front elevation has stone dressings, and there are stone quoins and lintels. Modern uPVC windows have been inserted. The building has an L-shape plan, which is little altered from the 1926 OS map, although it appears to have had a small extension. The interior is a single space, with wainscoting. The ceiling is timber-clad.

Intactness: the building has undergone both internal and external alteration, notably the replacement of the original windows and the removal of seating and other internal fixtures.
Local interest: it remains of local interest, and makes a strong contribution to the Rushton Conservation Area.
