Building record 7196/22 - Workshop to rear of 22 Thrift Street

Please read our .

Summary

Backyard shoe trades workshops were built during the 1880s for the houses on both sides of Thrift Street. On the east side most of the houses have been demolished but to the rear of 22 a two-storeyed workshop is one of a number that survive. It has a rendered exterior, with a two-bay front facing the house. On the ground floor there is an entrance and a window; on the first floor there are two three-light windows with timber frames and chamfered brick sills. A gable stack may have been dismantled.
