Full Description
{1} Site notes held with the NDC archive. Recorded prior to 03/08/1978. No further information. [Presumably relates to the Dennis Jackson investigation detailed in {2}]
{2} Part of the wider excavations carried out at Grendon Quarry in 1974-5. The remains of a metalled trackway, presumed to be Roman, overlay the clay silts. Associated with it were several timber piles where the trackway crossed an old watercourse. Possibly a bridge or causeway. [Located nearly 200m to the north-west of the second possible bridge.]
