Full Description
{1} Former tributary stream that fed into Harper's Brook and which is depicted on the 1886 Ordnance Survey map. The channel was fed by a series of undated drains on its north side. Two areas of consolidation were investigated, where depressions were filled with large quantities of stone in the late medieval period, perhaps to consolidate the ground around crossing points of the water course. In the 17th-18th centuries the stream was diverted through a stone culvert and the former channel was filled. The culvert silted up and was eventually replaced by modern drains.
