Summary

A chapel and hospital are mentioned in a grant by Cnut and Leofric to Pershore Abbey, one of the conditions of the grant being the removal of the hospital from Pershore to the chapel at Newnham circa 1014. It had formerly been thought that the grant referred to Newnham in Gloucestershire, but has since been identified with this Newnham. (SeeSO61SE9).
