Full Description
{1} The archetypal K6 was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott (Battersea Power Station and Liverpool Cathedral) in 1935 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King George V. The K6 is made of cast iron, painted red overall with long horizontal glazing in door and sides and with crowns situated on the top panels being applied not perforated.
Intact examples of K6 telephone kiosks will normally be assessed on the basis of group value and a strong visual relationship with other listed buildings and the setting. To be listable, a telephone kiosk needs to have a strong visual relationship with more than one listed building.
In this case there are no listed buildings within the vicinity of the telephone kiosk, and despite its being coloured grey and situated next to the village pump, it does not fulfil the criteria for listing.
