Full Description

{1} Owners from 1901 Isham Ironstone Co. and 1902 Lloyds Ironstone Co.Ltd until closure in 1911. The quarries take their name from the adjacent Midland railway station which at one time served Isham and Burton Latimer. The quarry itself lying well within the parish of Burton Latimer. The quarry was of a shallow nature of less than 12feet in depth. As the workings progressed eastwards so the quality of the ore deteriorated and the quarry was eventually closed in 1911.
