Summary
One of the initial developments in the Eastern Districts. Begun in the 1950s under the then Borough Architect J L Womersley. The estate was designed using a limited application of the 'Radburn Idea'.

Full Description
{1} The 'Radburn Idea' was applied in a limited form at Eastfield.
{2} This was designed by J L Womersley, then borough architect, in 1953. In the New-Town style, with low-pitched roofs, terraces of cottages, and occasional three storey flats. Pleasant if uneventful architecture; cf Kings Heath.
{3} It now looks rather dull, and considered below standard. A regeneration plan was drawn up in 2010.
