Full Description

{1} Buildings are shown on the 1812 two-inch to one-mile Ordnance Surveyors drawing in a similar location as the present farm buildings. The earliest surviving components of the present farmstead comprise two ironstone buildings which likely date to the late 18th to early 19th century. The northernmost building appears to have comprised a threshing barn, due to the presence of opposing openings, with a further ironstone unit to its south-east which had been heavily renewed and partly rebuilt in brick. The second ironstone building was re-fronted in brick in the mid to late 19th century to form a three-bay cart shed. This alteration likely coincided with the construction of two new redbrick ranges forming an open shelter shed to the north-east and an L-shaped range forming a loosebox, shelter shed and second art/implement shed. In the mid to late 20th century a series of agricultural structures have been constructed in concrete block around the historic structures. The current farm buildings form adjoining L and U-shaped ranges, sited around separate concrete yards.
