Full Description

{1}Owners from 1898 G.J. and W.M.Plevins for a lease term of 21years. The lease being for land for a tramway which is in existence or proposed is not clear nor is there any indication of the area of quarrying, except the 70acres between the bridleway opposite the Roundhouse and the A510 Wellingborough to Thrapston road. The type of quarrying is alo unknown. One tends to think in terms of ironstone with the name of Plevins but limestone is more likely in this area. The present condition of the site gives no clue to either quarry or tramway.
