Monument record 9598 - Possible Iron Age or Roman settlement, west of the Bedford Road

Cropmarks of curvilinear and rectilinear ditches identified on aerial photographs during Northants NMP. During the later Bedford Borough NMP only acurvilinear ditch of uncertain date and function is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Located in a field about 755 metres NE of Goosey’s Lodge, the ditch is up to 5 metres wide and is a curving ditch about 64 metres W-E that then curves N for 43 metres. Some 260 metres SW of the ditch is a complex of Iron Age or Roman settlement cropmarks (outside Northants; NRHE 1591556), with which this may be associated

Located in a field about 755 metres NE of Goosey’s Lodge and centred at SP 96862 64231, the ditch is up to 5 metres wide and is a curving ditch about 64 metres W-E that then curves N for 43 metres. Some 260 metres SW of the ditch is a complex of Iron Age or Roman settlement cropmarks (NRHE 1591556), with which this may be associated.
