A post-medieval extractive pit is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of Historic England’s North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304).

{1-3} A post-medieval extractive pit is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of Historic England’s North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 170 metres E of Whitfield House Farm and centred at SP 461401 239621, an irregularly shaped area of extraction about 2,000 square metres in area has cut into a block of medieval and/or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation earthworks. The extraction earthwork has been levelled somewhat but still visible as a shallow earthwork on remote sensing data dated to 2019.
