Full Description

{1-2} Linear features of uncertain date are visible on historic aerial photographs as cropmarks and were mapped as part of Historic England’s North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project. Located approximately 350m south west of Dagnall’s Farm, Wicken, Northamptonshire, and centred at SP 75520 38941. The cropmarks show linear features with subcircular maculae in between; the linear features may be field/enclosure boundaries. The underlying solid geology is Blisworth Limestone overlain by an area of Cromerian glaciofluvial deposits of sand and gravel and till/diamicton of the Oadby Member. These features are close to other areas of Iron Age settlement/activity on similar geology along the River Great Ouse.
