Full Description
{1} House, one storey and attics, parapeted gable, class 4a. 18th-century. Described as a public house in 1834 (Sale Catalogue, Southwick Hall) and said to be the Bill and Hatchet.
{2} A single storey and attic cottage of coursed rubble with thatched roof and brick stack. There is a blocked opening with timber lintel below window sill level west of the window in the main room. In 1834 the house was occupied by John Wyatt, who also had the adjoining land totalling 1.2.22 acres; the holding is described as public house and close (Sale Catalogue, at Southwick Hall); the landlord of the Shuckborough Arms says (Jan 1979) that this was the Bull and Hatchet.
