Summary
Post-medieval to early 20th century ironstone quarries and workings are visible on historical aerial photographs and lidar imagery and their full extant (as visible on the photographs and lidar). The quarrying covers a large area of land north of the River Nene between Wellingborough and Irthlingborough. Associated tramways have been recorded as Monument Number 1564970.

Full Description
{1-2} Post-medieval to early 20th century ironstone quarries and workings are visible on historical aerial photographs and lidar imagery and their full extant (as visible on the photographs and lidar) were mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. The quarrying covers a large area of land north of the River Nene between Wellingborough and Irthlingborough, centred at SP 92145 69609. Associated tramways have been recorded as Monument Number 1564970.
