Summary

On 11th November 1943, a B17 Flying Fortress Bomber, the Sharon Belle, of the 327th bomb Squadron from USAAF Poddington crashed at Astwell Castle Farm killing ten aircrew. This stone tablet was laid in 2009.

Full Description

{1, 2} Stone tablet laid on the ground adjacent to Helmdon village war memorial. The tablet is incised with the names of ten crew members who were killed when their B17 bomber crashed in November 1943.
