Full Description

{1} A significant oval enclosure was identified on LRM (local relief model) lidar during a survey of Roman Road 571 to the north. The enclosure is c350m in diameter and encloses an area of 7ha. It is located on the river-side valley overlooking the Willow Brook and the Roman Road. The authors suggested an Iron Age origin and that it was probably constructed to exploit the nearby iron ore deposits.
