Full Description

{1} Bounding the southern edge of the Racecourse for 500m is an iron fence with elaborate cast-iron supports set into a cast-iron coping on a low brick wall with the name of Barwell & Co, Northampton ironfounder cast into the coping at intervals. Erected between 1870 and 1875 by the Freehold Land Society as a northern boundary for their new housing estate, gates into the back gardens were added later.
