Full Description
{1} A single undated pit was identified within a foundation trench, believed to have contained disarticulated human remains. The human remains disturbed during the excavation of the foundation trench were removed from site by Northamptonshire Police prior to the arrival of the monitoring archaeologist. The human remains consisted of the upper portion of the skull and a femur. The skull showed no signs of recent damage, suggesting it was not complete within the trench. The lack of any further skeletal remains suggests that the remains do not come from an in-situ inhumation buriall, but may have been detached from the rest of the remains and deposited within the pit separately.
