Full Description
{1} Barn 1 stands at the northwest corner of Hall Farm and is a rectangular building aligned northwest to southeast. It consists of three linked sections, built mainly of cob on stone plinths with brick repairs and timber framing, and roofed in corrugated steel. The northeast wall retains cob with brick buttresses, while the southwest side has timber cladding and large doors. Inside, the southern section is open with cob walls and an earth floor, the central section is partly enclosed, and the northern section, formerly a cow house, retains concrete stalls and troughs. The building likely dates to the early 19th century and, despite later alterations, preserves evidence of historic agricultural use.
Barn 2 is a long rectangular range aligned northeast to southwest, built mainly of red brick on stone plinths. It includes a two-storey garage at the north end with a slate roof and a single-storey range of storerooms to the south roofed in corrugated metal. The storerooms are divided into three spaces with brick walls and concrete floors, retaining drainage channels and evidence of tethering posts. The structure reflects late 19th- to early 20th-century farm use.
Barn 3 is an open-sided barn of red brick aligned north to south, with timber framing and corrugated metal cladding at the northwest corner. It has a timber truss roof covered in corrugated steel and a concrete floor. The northern bay is partly enclosed with timber framing and corrugated metal sheets. The building likely dates between 1884 and 1899 and preserves features of its historic agricultural function.
