Full Description

{2} Part of the wider excavation at Pineham, Zone H. Apart from residual Neolithic flint in later features, the only Neolithic features were a cluster of eleven pits. Possible post pipes, remnants of upright posts, were observed in five of the pits but their arrangement did not form a clear structure. It is possible that there was more than one structure or a succession of overlapping structures.Charred material from one of the pits was radiocarbon dated to the Middle Neolithic period.
