Full Description
{1} Painted advertisement on the north-facing elevation of a two-storey brick terraced building at 115 Cecil Road. The sign comprises white lettering painted directly onto bare brickwork and bears the inscription 'PHONE 1774 S. COLLBY TAXIS LARGE CARS'. The sign is fairly legible but has been affected by flaking paintwork and pollution staining. The painted lettering may have been marked out on the wall prior to the application of a painted background, which appears never to have been completed. The building has a tiled roof and remains in residential use. The letters 'S' and 'T' within the word 'TAXIS' are depicted in a larger stylised form.
