Full Description
{1} Fragmentary painted advertisement on the west-facing elevation of an extension attached to the two-storey building at 1-3 Henry Street, Northampton. The sign comprises faded black lettering on a white background arranged in two rectangular panels separated by a later window opening. The upper inscription is largely illegible, while the lower panel retains the partial inscription '[TH]E [P]RE[M]IS[E]S'. The sign is poorly legible and affected by surface cracking. The building is of concrete construction with an asbestos roof and is currently vacant. It formerly housed a motorcycle sales, service and repair business. The sign is associated with the premises of Percy Spokes, who established a motorcycle shop at 1 Henry Street in 1907, later operating as Spokes & Son Ltd before becoming Mick Berrill Motorbikes.
