Full Description
{1} Painted advertisement on the north-west-facing elevation of the two-storey brick terraced building at 26 Overstone Road. The sign comprises black serif lettering on a white background, now stained yellow, within a black-bordered rectangular panel with indented corners. The partially legible inscription reads 'PHIPP'S', '[BO]TTLED' and '[ST]OUT', separated by a decorative floral motif. The sign is fairly legible despite flaking paintwork. The black lettering has weathered to a dark blue colour in places. The building has a tiled roof and remains in residential use. The sign survives within a panel of exposed brickwork surrounded by modern plaster, suggesting it was revealed during refurbishment and retained in situ.
